MPs want pension

Parliament2WILLEMSTAD - The President of Parliament William Millerson wants the government to regulate the pension of the Members of Parliament. The previous bill proposal which was presented on October 10, 2010, was annulled by the Governor. The reason was that the Governor thought the pension for each MP was excessively high.

Members of Parliament pay a premium for their pension, but there is no regulation.

According to several analysts, this is a bad time to be talking about a pension for the MP. Politicians are not really popular right now and Curaçao is in a dire economic situation. This is not the time to be talking about a pension for the Members of Parliament.
