Navarro’s emergency plan should lead to halving crimes

Nelson NavarroWILLEMSTAD – A contingency plan shall take effect which must put a stop to the rising crime on the island. Minister of Justice, Nelson Navarro will discuss this emergency plan with the police and the public prosecution. This plan should be in effect until the 2014 Carnival season.

The Minister did, based on information from intelligence, a few weeks ago, made the statement that the island is “in the grip of organized crime” and also showed record that he has the feeling that criminals are out to sow panic among the population.

More police

The emergency plan according to Navarro is a combination of more police on the streets and more information-driven corps. “I will be satisfied if we can reduce the number of offenses this year for at least half compared to last year,” Navarro said.
