New tax system should stimulate economy

Alex RosariaWILLEMSTAD – Leader of the coalition party PAIS, Alex Rosaria invited the Minister of Finance, Dr. Jose Jardim for a meeting with the Standing Committee of Finance in Parliament. This meeting is to give the Minister and the MPs, who are members of this committee to discuss and exchange their views on the changes in the tax system.

Rosaria reminded the Minister that, according to the agreements made, the taxes are to be adjusted in such way that starting 2015, they will stimulate economic growth. In the coalition agreement 2012-2016, there are, among other things, "tax incentives" that will give the economy a push into the right direction. The government will also make better use of the opportunities the Kingdom Relations has to offer to get a more attractive tax system.

The aim is to simplify the tax system or, better yet, to reduce administrative burdens. The aim is to introduce the new tax system on January 1. 2015 and the new tax organization should otherwise have been operational in the first half of 2014 already. Faction leader Rosaria reminds Jardim once again about the agreements made and hopes to receive the content of the package with the law amendments to be able to discuss this with the Minister.
