Parliament angry with Minister Palm

de palmWILLEMSTAD - Stanley Palm Minister of Economic Affairs was the notable absentee during treatment of the budget for his ministry in parliament. Even his own party was not to talk about his absence. Palm is in Miami this week. According to friends of the minister, he is on a short break. President of Parliament, Mike Franco defended his party colleague. The budget debate was delayed. The debate conflicted with his agenda, Franco said.

The budget debate is the most important debate in parliament for a Minister. It is where the Minister can defend her or her policies for the coming year. According to the members of Parliament, the Minister should have been there. One of the reasons is the economic and financial problems of the island. The MP’s wanted to hear from the Minister what his plans are to attract more investors to the island.
