Pensioners want compensation dentist and glasses

Omayra LeeflangWILLEMSTAD – Hundreds of worried pensioners have signed a letter yesterday which was sent to the Director of the Social Insurance Bank, Philip Martis. In the letters, the pensioners are requesting the same allowance as pensioners with a monthly income of less than 3500 guilders (2000 dollars), namely a allowance for dentists and glasses.

This was discussed yesterday during an informal meeting held at Rust & Burgh and was organized by the member of Parliament for the yellow Party PAR, Omayra Leeflang.

She believes that the government discriminates against pensioners with the recent changes in the basic health insurance (BVZ) and wants to go to court. If there is no response within four months, they will go to court, according to Mrs. Leeflang.
