Pharmacists cease protest

WILLEMSTAD – Starting today holders of an insurance card can get their medications without having to pay cash. This is what the Association of Pharmacy owners decided last night. After extensive consultation with the Minister of Public Health, Dr. Ben Whiteman and the Social Insurance Bank (SVB), it was decided to establish a committee with a representative of the pharmacists, SVB and an independent member. This committee must investigate what exactly the costs are of the pharmacists.

Both pharmacists and the SVB are satisfied with the solution because the parties have finally brought clarity in a long-running conflict. Holders of insurance cards SVB, PP, GTZ and FZOG could not get their medication from last Friday till Monday only if they paid in cash.
