Plasterk: Corruption occasionally denounced

Minister PlasterkWILLEMSTAD – According to the Dutch Minister of Interior and Kingdom Relations, Ronald Plasterk, corruption on the island of Curacao is only occasionally denounced because of fear of reprisals, such as loss of job or any possible promotion. This is what the Dutch Minister has indicated in this letter which he submitted to the Second Chamber of the Dutch Parliament. With this letter, the Minister also included the Transparency International report, which was recently presented to the public.

Plasterk also draws the conclusion that the regulations on the island are generally considered to be in order, but the compliance and supervision is where the problem is.
