Protocol signed between Parliament and the Government of Curacao

Asjes and FrancoWILLEMSTAD – The Parliament of Curacao has signed a protocol with the Government on August 20, 2013. This protocol regulates the implementation of the manner and the term in which the Government and or one of the Ministers has to answer questions asked by the Parliament. This the so called questions right set forth in article 57 of the Constitution and article 96 of the Parliamentary rules and regulations.

According to this protocol, the Government has two (2) months to answer questions asked by the Parliament. If this is not possible in the stipulated period, the concerned Minister will have to state that in writing to the Parliament through its President indicating the reasons for the delay.

The protocol must still be ratified by the Parliament of Curacao.
