Publications Concerning Screening VDC Head Completely Wrong

Curacao Government CenterWILLEMSTAD – Recently the candidate for Head of Curacao Secret Service (VDC) was in the news because apparently he did not come out positively from the mandatory screening for the position. According to Prime Minister Daniel Hodge, this information is completely wrong and Mr. M.B. Ph. Romer is fit for the job.

Prime Minister Hodge shares, in consultation with the VDC Supervisory Committee, the following:

“The Supervisory Committee has established that, once an internal investigation at VDC had taken place with a view to the efforts of Mr Römer as assistant crisis manager of the VDC, in 2011, a safety audit has taken place which has not revealed any security risks.

Following the departure of the then crisis manager of the VDC was Mr. Romer already appointed as his successor, and he is currently interim manager of the institution. This gives Mr. Römer all the authority as Head of the VDC and in connection therewith, the safety investigation was then expanded through the Review Committee itself.

The results of these additional investigations, together with the results of earlier safety investigation that were conducted, clearly showed no evidence of any security risk or other issues related to the actual appointment of Mr. Römer as the Head of the VDC.
