Research on construction central government office building

WILLEMSTAD – Minister of Finance Dr. Jose Jardim said during the weekly Government press conference that he will examine whether a central office building can be built for around 1,500 civil servants of Curacao.

This would would  give the Government a great opportunity to save on the cost of hiring several scattered buildings, the transport costs for consultation and security. The announcement follows a report by government auditors SOAB which showed among other things that the government pays the rent of various buildings, that are not even being used. Also hefty rent payments are made, where contracts are missing. A new building would cost around 100 million guilders. The government-Hodge has agreed to  an exploratory research.
