Schotte urges the Prime Minister to give information on the Kingdom Summit

Gerrit SchotteWILLEMSTAD – MFK’s political leader, Gerrit Schotte, requested from the Prime Minister of Curacao, Ivar Asjes, to inform them on the Kingdom Summit which was recently held in Aruba.

In his letter, Mr. Schotte indicates that up until now, Parliament has not received an explanation from the Prime Minister on the Kingdom deliberation which took place on June 10, 2013. This did not happen, neither verbally nor written.

For this reason the MFK faction has sent a letter to the Prime Minister with six questions related to this topic. Schotte thinks that this issue is extremely important because there are topics that need to be discussed between Curacao and The Netherlands, like the trafficking of people in the Kingdom.

This lack of transparency has made it difficult for Parliament to monitor the Government so they won’t make secret agreements which are against the interest of the people of Curacao.

For this reason, Schotte asks the Prime Minister to turn in a concept or the official program of the Kingdom Summit which was held on June 10 of this year.
