As early as January 2024, Manuela was already being recognized for her talent, energy, and stage presence, with many predicting that she was destined for victory. At the time, she was told:
"You have incredible energy and confidence on stage, and if not this year, you will soon become Tumba Queen—and many more times after that!"
That prediction became reality yesterday.
A Tribute
For Manuela, this victory carried an extra special meaning. Before her performance, she dedicated her participation to the legendary Mama Elia Isenia, the first woman ever to win the Tumba Festival—and she did so three times. In an emotional response, Manuela expressed her admiration for Isenia’s role in paving the way for female artists in tumba music:
"Mama Elia, you are not just a name in history. You are a force of nature, a light of inspiration, and a voice that has opened doors for all of us."
With this historic victory, Jefdaney "J’Dey.M" Manuela cements her place in Curaçao’s musical history. Her song, Nos Bida Ta un Fiesta (Our Life is a Celebration), embodies not only the festive spirit of tumba but also the resilience and optimism of the island. Manuela’s triumph is proof that passion, dedication, and love for music can lead to great success.
