WILLEMSTAD – Kaya Kaya is launching the first edition of a new market series titled Amor pa Otrobanda. 

The market will take place on Saturday, February 1, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, centered around Kaya Kaya’s main office in Breedestraat, Otrobanda, near the viaduct and the parking area behind the bus station. Visitors can enjoy food and drink vendors, artisan products, a dedicated children’s area, an art house featuring various artists, live music, and a variety of family-friendly activities. 

The Amor pa Otrobanda market is the first step in creating a movement that keeps Otrobanda active throughout the entire year. Entrance to the market is free. 

New Vision for Otrobanda 

Following a period of evaluation and preparation, Kaya Kaya is introducing a new concept and structure, organizing monthly activities for both the local community and tourists. The market aims to highlight Otrobanda on both a local and international level, boost businesses in the area, and make the district even more attractive. Soon, the Kaya Kaya Movement will announce its 2025 event calendar, upcoming projects, and long-term plans. 

The launch of Amor pa Otrobanda is supported by Cultuurparticipatie, The Freedom Hotel, and the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB). Otrobanda is ready to welcome visitors this Saturday for an evening filled with warmth and culture, embracing the theme of love for Otrobanda. Kaya Kaya hopes this initiative will continue to attract more visitors to one of the island’s fastest-growing and most popular neighborhoods for both residents and tourists alike.
