WILLEMSTAD - For many years, residents along the carnival route—especially in Wishi/Marchena—have built stands, platforms, and other types of structures on private property to watch the carnival parades. However, even when these constructions are on private land, there are specific regulations that must be followed.
Please note:
All stands and other temporary structures must be completely dismantled and removed when there are no carnival parades taking place. This rule also applies to private property.
For the 2026 Carnival season, the following applies: by February 22, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., there must be no construction or parts of any structure erected on private property for the purpose of watching the carnival parades.
Individuals who do not have a precario permit but wish to place a structure on their private property must follow the same assembly and dismantling rules as those stated in the permit requirements for constructions on public roads.
Together, we can help ensure a safe and orderly Carnival celebration.
