WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Wellness Association (CWA) proudly reflects on the resounding success of the inaugural Curaçao Wellness Expo 2025, which took place on Global Wellness Day, Saturday, June 14, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the beautiful Zakitó Beach. This inspiring event marked a vibrant celebration of Curaçao’s wellness industry, bringing together professionals, enthusiasts, and the broader community for a day filled with meaningful and enriching experiences that showcased the island’s wellness potential.
The day began with an official opening and blessing from the Minister of Public Health, Environment and Nature, Mr. Silvania, who reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the CWA in developing the wellness sector and expanding access to wellness across the island. In his speech, the Minister stated:
“That is why my Ministry — the Ministry of Public Health, Environment and Nature — is proud to be working closely with the CWA on formalizing a National Wellness Decree. This decree will provide a legal foundation for traditional, complementary, and integrative wellness practices in Curaçao. And today, I am pleased to share that we are committed to having this decree in place by 2026, so that Curaçao can officially mark its own National Wellness Day — a day to celebrate our unique culture of healing and health, bringing the entire community together in a meaningful and inclusive way.”
Following the opening, the event featured a wide array of wellness sessions, including yoga, Qi Gong, and Dance Fit, led by passionate local professionals who demonstrated how movement supports a balanced body and mind.
During the Masterclasses, Mrs. Olga Job educated attendees on lifestyle nutrition, emphasizing how conscious eating habits support healing and long-term vitality. Meanwhile, Mrs. Haydee introduced the audience to Tapping – an emotional regulation technique – giving attendees practical tools for self-care.
The morning culminated in a dynamic Expert Panel Talk moderated by Nancy Rodrigues Pereira, wellness expert and CWA board member. The discussion, titled "Wellness for the Future of Curaçao", explored how Curaçao can grow socially, economically, and sustainably as a wellness destination. Panelists Kuawanna Thompson (Lotus Roots), Lucas Beaujon (HR Manager, Aqualectra), and Lara Melkert (Group 17) shared valuable insights, personal stories, and their vision for the island’s wellness future. The audience was actively engaged, contributing to a powerful conversation on creating collective impact through wellness.
Throughout the day, the Wellness Expo Market offered visitors access to a range of wellness products and services. Vendors included Acoya Spa & Wellness, Sentro pa Salú Públiko, Sprinkles and Cakes, AHFS, Atalanta Healing Sky, Nos Naturalesa, Madi’s Spa, Curaloe, Spotted Bananas, and Tapping Coach Ms. Hermans, among others. The market created a vibrant platform for networking, discovery, and celebrating Curaçao’s wellness entrepreneurship.
The Curaçao Wellness Expo 2025 was more than an event—it was the beginning of a movement. A day that laid the foundation for Curaçao’s very own National Wellness Day, set to be launched in 2026, to be celebrated annually on the third Saturday of June.
CWA is proud to have set the tone for the community to unite around a shared vision of health, happiness, and healing. The organization extends heartfelt gratitude to all guests, vendors, volunteers, and partners for their time, contributions, and dedication to making this historic day possible. Together, we embrace Curaçao as the island of healing.
