WILLEMSTAD - Minister Javier Silvania of Health, Environment, and Nature, alongside representatives from Totolika and the SGR group, revealed an announcement board yesterday for the construction of a new complex for people with intellectual disabilities. The facility will be located in Noord-Zapateer and will be built on a plot of more than 7,500 square meters. The complex will include 40 units, where individuals with intellectual disabilities will be able to live independently under supervision.
The future residents will have the opportunity to live as independently as possible, with communal cooking, shared meals, and recreational activities.
A recreational room will also be built on the complex, designed for day activities. The unveiling of the announcement board marks the beginning of a new phase, as the construction is set to begin shortly after receiving an updated building permit. The construction period, from start to completion, is expected to take 12 months.
