WILLEMSTAD – The General Pension Fund of Curaçao (APC) has presented its new Strategic Plan for the period 2025–2029. Building on the financial stability achieved in recent years, the plan highlights digital transformation, customer focus, and social responsibility, according to APC’s 2024 annual report.
The fund describes the strategy as a transition into a new phase. Having completed its previous policy period, APC aims to position itself more strongly as both a reliable pension provider and an investment partner. The plan seeks not only to secure pensions for participants but also to contribute to the wider development of Curaçao.
A key element of the new strategy is digital transformation. APC is investing in the new administrative system Lifetime and is working toward ISO 27001 certification for information security. These steps are intended to make services faster, more secure, and future-proof. Internally, the fund is enhancing efficiency through greater automation, stronger data protection, and clearer workflows.
Customer Focus
Customer service is another central pillar of the strategy. APC plans to make pensions more accessible and understandable through education campaigns, better communication, and more personal interaction with participants and employers. Research will also be conducted to identify what participants value most, ensuring that products and services align with their expectations.
Social Investment
The plan further emphasizes APC’s societal role. The fund will continue investing in sustainable projects on Curaçao, including in the energy sector and real estate development, supporting both economic growth and job creation.
At the same time, APC is preparing for changes in the National Pension Ordinance and the APC Ordinance, ensuring the organization remains legally equipped for the future.
The board described the strategy as ambitious yet realistic. “Only by investing now in flexibility, innovation, and engagement can we remain relevant in a rapidly changing world,” the directors stated in the annual report.
