WILLEMSTAD - A group of divers were unharmed but frightened on Saturday morning, after their vessel capsized and was smashed against the shore.

The group was back on their way from a dive when a wave surprised them. It came from behind the vessel, causing it to capsize. The seven divers had to swim ashore. Their boat was dragged through the waves and then crashed against the rocks on the coast.

After the report, the Coast Guard Rescue and Coordination Center sent a helicopter to Oostpunt (east point) to locate the group. Vehicles from the Coast Guard also drove to Oostpunt. They brought five men and two women to Parera. The divers live in Curaçao.
