WILLEMSTAD - The Pro Bario Buena Vista neighborhood organization and the Fundashon Ban Broma Buena Vista have officially named a bridge in the Buena Vista district after Franklin (Frank) Girigorie, honoring his longstanding dedication to the community of Buena Vista and to Curaçao as a whole.

During a special ceremony held on Thursday, the new nameplate of the “Franklin Girigorie Bridge” was unveiled. The bridge connects St. Domingoweg with the Pichingolo area — a route used daily by many local residents.

According to the organizers, the tribute aims to “permanently recognize and appreciate the contributions of Frank Girigorie to the social life and development of the neighborhood.”

The ceremony featured remarks by Igmar Rafaela, chairman of Pro Bario Buena Vista, and Sidney Magaritha of Fundashon Ban Broma Buena Vista. Girigorie himself also addressed the crowd, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and the community’s continued support.

The event took place in a joyful and festive atmosphere, complete with music, social gatherings, and a friendly domino competition organized by the residents of Buena Vista — a fitting celebration of the spirit of community that Frank Girigorie has long championed.
