WILLEMSTAD – On September 19 and 20, the Curaçao Clean Up Foundation organized a nationwide clean-up campaign as part of World Clean Up Day. The Curaçao Coast Guard, together with many companies, organizations, volunteers, and individuals, participated in this important initiative aimed at creating a cleaner island.
On Friday, September 19, a large group of coast guard officers took to the streets with gloves, trash pickers, garbage bags, and plenty of enthusiasm to contribute to the effort. In the morning hours, they cleared a large area of mondi (natural terrain) and roadside litter, collecting the waste in large bags for proper disposal.
Despite heavy rainfall during the day, the coast guard team successfully reached their goal, demonstrating both resilience and commitment to the cause.
The Coast Guard expressed its gratitude to the Curaçao Clean Up Foundation for leading this valuable initiative and closed with its well-known slogan: Samen Sterk — Strong Together.
