Curaçao Declares October 15 as National Day of Local Industry

WILLEMSTAD - The Government of Curaçao, through the Ministry of Economic Development, proudly announces the official proclamation of October 15 as the National Day of Local Industry.

During a formal ceremony, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas and Minister of Economic Development Roderick Middelhof signed the decree officially establishing the day. With this act, the government recognizes the vital contribution of local producers to the economic growth and sustainable development of Curaçao.

“Our local producers form the backbone of our economic resilience,” said Minister Middelhof. “This special day is a tribute to their hard work, creativity, and commitment to Curaçao’s future.”

The National Day of Local Industry highlights the essential role that local producers play in strengthening the Curaçaoan economy, fostering innovation, and creating employment opportunities.

The Ministry also aims to raise awareness about the importance of supporting local businesses and to showcase the quality and diversity of Curaçaoan products.

In collaboration with the Curaçao Manufacturers Association (CMA), the CMA Expo will be held later this week at Sambil Curaçao (October 18, 2025), where local companies will present their products and innovations to the public.
