Curaçao Dental Hygienists Host Free “Un Smail pa Kòrsou” Event for Children

WILLEMSTAD – On Sunday, October 19, the Curaçao Dental Hygienists Association will hold its annual event Un Smail pa Kòrsou in Parera, offering free oral health education and dental checkups to 500 children between the ages of 0 and 18.

The program will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Skol Avansá Amador Nita on Nieuwe Pareraweg. To make the event accessible, special bus routes have been arranged from neighborhoods including SteenrijkPundaScharloo, Parera, DominguitoJanwéKoraal Specht, Marie Pampoen, and surrounding areas.

Thanks to sponsorship, the event has been expanded and improved this year. Every child will receive a reusable backpack containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a sustainable cup. After receiving their package, participants can immediately practice proper brushing techniques under the guidance of dental hygiene students from the University of Applied Sciences in Arnhem and Nijmegen.

Participation is free for both children and parents. Everyone will return home not only with new knowledge and a personalized dental care kit, but also with what organizers hope will be a healthier and brighter smile.
