WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Police Force (KPC) will soon be strengthened with two new buses for its Mobile Unit (ME). The vehicles are currently in the final stages of production and are expected to be delivered shortly. 

The Mobile Unit is tasked with maintaining order during major public events requiring special security measures. It also provides assistance in situations involving public disturbances, riots, or other disruptions to public order. In addition, the unit supports emergency operations during natural disasters or other large-scale threats. 

Although ME officers are regular members of the KPC, they form a specialized team whenever the situation demands. This ensures that the police force always maintains a professional capacity to handle extraordinary circumstances on the island. 

The new vehicles will enhance the unit’s operational readiness and reinforce the KPC’s ability to respond quickly and effectively to a wide range of security challenges.
