WILLEMSTAD - Dutch State Secretary for the Interior and Kingdom Relations, Eddie van Marum, will visit Curaçao next week as part of his introductory trip to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. The visit will focus on strengthening cooperation, promoting agriculture and fisheries, and advancing the commemoration of the slavery past.

A key part of the program includes roundtable talks with local farmers and fishermen, aimed at exploring ways to stimulate sustainable food production and strengthen Curaçao’s self-sufficiency.
In addition, Van Marum will meet with the Slavery Remembrance Committee, where he will engage in dialogue with Curaçaoan youth about the island’s shared history and the importance of education, awareness, and reconciliation within the Kingdom.
The visit underlines the Netherlands’ continued commitment to fostering mutual understanding and equal partnership with the Caribbean countries of the Kingdom.
