WILLEMSTAD – Two prominent Curaçaoan citizens, Emily de Jongh-Elhage and Lizanne Dindial, will be honored with the Cross of Merit on October 10. The announcement was made by the government in an official press release.
The confirmation took place on Thursday during a ceremony led by Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (OWCS), Sithree ‘Cey’ van Heydoorn (MFK). According to the government, both De Jongh-Elhage and Dindial expressed surprise but also deep gratitude at their nomination.
The award ceremony will be held at Wilhelminaplein between 9:00 and 11:00 in the morning. The government has invited the people of Curaçao to attend the event and join in recognizing the outstanding contributions of both honorees.
The Cross of Merit is awarded to individuals who have made significant contributions to society through their dedication, service, and leadership.
