WILLEMSTAD - The Juliana Bridge has been closed in both directions due to urgent inspection work, the police announced on Thursday. The Department of Public Works (OW) ordered the immediate closure to ensure safety while assessments are carried out.

As a result, motorists can no longer travel between Punda and Otrobanda via the bridge until further notice. Drivers are being advised to use alternative routes while the inspections take place.

The Department of Public Works has not yet announced when the bridge will reopen to traffic. The closure is expected to cause significant delays in central Willemstad, as the Juliana Bridge is a key connection between the two sides of the capital.

Authorities have urged the public to follow traffic instructions and stay alert for updates as engineers work to determine the bridge’s condition and the timeline for its reopening.
