Kranshi Opens on Two Saturdays for Passport Applications Without Appointment

WILLEMSTAD - The Department of Civil Affairs (Kranshi), part of the Ministry of Governance, Planning and Public Service (BPD), has announced that it will open on two special Saturdays — October 18 and November 15, 2025 — exclusively for passport applications without appointment.

Kranshi will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on both dates. The initiative aims to improve service delivery amid a significant increase in passport requests toward the end of the year.

These special opening days will allow citizens to apply for a passport without a prior appointment. However, officials note that some waiting time may occur, and every effort will be made to minimize delays as much as possible.

The requirements for a new passport application can be found on the government’s official website at www.gobiernu.cw under the section “Loket Digital.”

Residents are reminded that payments will only be accepted via debit card (swipe) or by bank deposit with a printed proof of payment.

This extra service is intended to give citizens more flexibility and ensure everyone has the opportunity to renew or apply for their passport before the busy holiday season.
