WILLEMSTAD - The government can no longer enter into new financial obligations until the end of February. There is a complete financial commitment stop. This was decided yesterday during the meeting of the Council of Ministers. The proposal was presented by the Minister of Finance Kenneth Gijsbertha.
The Minister of Finance also asked the Council of Ministers to agree to 100 percent prior supervision with effect from 1 March 2019, until each ministry is supported by internal auditors.
In a letter dated 21 January 2019 to his fellow Ministers, Minister Kenneth Gijsbertha states that the budgets should be thoroughly analyzed in connection with the establishment and implementation of the government's comprehensive recovery program.
