WILLEMSTAD – Opposition parliamentarian Quincy Girigorie (PAR) has issued an urgent reminder to Parliament President Fergino Brownbill, pressing for long-awaited answers about the financial relationship between Kas di Kòrsou and the Parliament of Curaçao.
In a letter dated September 2, 2025, Girigorie noted that he first submitted 12 formal questions on July 17, after troubling reports surfaced in the media about financial management issues at Kas di Kòrsou. More than six weeks later, he said, no response has been received.
According to Girigorie, the lack of answers is alarming given the recent involvement of the ABVO union, which met with the Minister Plenipotentiary to address concerns about employees at Kas di Kòrsou. He stressed that Parliament cannot perform its oversight role without full clarity on the matter.
Girigorie also pointed out that the delay in providing answers violates the spirit of Article 96 of the Rules of Order, which governs communication between Parliament and ministers. Although the protocol may not legally apply to the president of Parliament, Girigorie argued that it should be followed strictly to ensure accountability and transparency.
He called on Brownbill to provide the requested answers within the current week so that he can carry out his parliamentary duties effectively.
“The situation at Kas di Kòrsou remains a matter of serious concern,” Girigorie wrote. “Parliament deserves a real picture of what is happening, and the people of Curaçao deserve transparency.”
