WILLEMSTAD - The Permit Desk of the Ministry of Governance, Planning and Public Service Management—currently being developed into the new Community Service Desk (Lokèt di Komunidat)—has participated in several knowledge exchange sessions with municipalities in the Netherlands.
As part of the Government Program, the Permit Desk is evolving into the Community Service Desk (Samenlevingsloket), a modern, citizen-centered service model. The ministry proudly announced that these exchanges have provided valuable insights for the implementation of Curaçao’s upcoming community-based service platform.
In October 2024, staff from the Permit Desk, together with representatives from Public Affairs (Kranshi), made their first official visit to the Municipality of Amersfoort. Later, in September 2025, representatives from the Municipality of Almere visited Curaçao to share best practices and experiences in customer service innovation. Most recently, in October 2025, the Permit Desk team visited the Municipality of Deventer for another productive knowledge exchange, further strengthening the foundation for Curaçao’s new service model.
The delegation also visited the Association of Dutch Municipalities (VNG) and the Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary at the Curaçao House in The Hague, where discussions focused on administrative collaboration and citizen engagement.
These exchanges have provided the Curaçao delegation with practical examples and renewed ambition to continue developing an organization that will become the central point of government service delivery—one that offers citizens accessible, efficient, and high-quality public services.
