PNP Raises Alarm Over Intimidation of Civil Servants

WILLEMSTAD – Opposition party PNP has voiced concern about reports of intimidation of civil servants in the workplace. In a letter addressed to Minister of Governance, Planning and Service, Kimberley Lew-Jen-Tai, the party highlighted a series of incidents allegedly occurring in recent months.

PNP leader Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia stressed the need to take the integrity of the Government of Curaçao more seriously. In her letter, she presented the minister with ten questions regarding what she described as a deeply troubling development.

According to Larmonie-Cecilia, there is currently a climate of fear among government employees, which she believes undermines the functioning of the civil service and public trust in government institutions.

The minister has not yet responded publicly to the concerns raised by the PNP.
