WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Police Force is calling on the public to come forward with information about a shooting incident that took place on Wednesday, March 5, on Hamelbergweg near the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC). A man was injured after being struck by bullets fired from a handgun.
The victim has filed a formal complaint for attempted murder or attempted manslaughter. Several other witnesses present at the scene have also given statements to investigators.
Preliminary findings suggest the shooting may be linked to a conflict that arose earlier during the Marcha di Despedida of Carnival.
