WILLEMSTAD - On Tuesday, October 28, the Project Team for Supervision and Enforcement (PTH) of the Ministry of Traffic, Transport, and Urban Planning (VVRP) officially inaugurated its new office building located in Parera, on the premises of the Public Works Department.
The new facility is fully equipped with modern infrastructure, including three offices, a dedicated inspection room, a state-of-the-art meeting room, and all the necessary supporting furniture and tools. With this upgrade, PTH is now even better prepared to carry out its mission to combat illegal activities and enforce regulations across the island.

During the inauguration, Minister Charles Cooper emphasized that the ministry has invested significantly in strengthening PTH — not only in personnel, resources, and vehicles, but now also in a modern office building that reflects the government’s commitment to restoring order and legality.
“This new facility demonstrates our dedication to ensuring Curaçao is governed by structure and rule of law, especially regarding the illegal occupation of government land and unauthorized construction,” Minister Cooper stated.
PTH holds the authority to inspect and take firm action where necessary against illegal activities. In addition to land and construction enforcement, the team also oversees advertising billboards, permits for terraces and roadside activities, and various other matters under the framework of local laws such as the Building and Housing Ordinance (BWV), the Island Development Plan (EOP), the Island Ordinance on Spatial Development Planning (EROC), and the National Ordinance on Public Order (LOO).
The inauguration marks another milestone in VVRP’s broader effort to enhance compliance, transparency, and urban order throughout Curaçao.
