Red Cross Curaçao Launches Humanitarian Aid Campaign for Gaza

WILLEMSTAD The Red Cross Curaçao has announced the start of a humanitarian aid campaign to support people in Gaza, where the ongoing crisis has left thousands, especially children, without access to basic necessities such as food.

“This is truly a crisis,” the organization stated. “One thing is clear: restricting people, especially children, from accessing food and using this as a weapon is a very serious situation. It creates immense humanitarian need.”

In coordination with the Red Cross Netherlands, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and the international Red Cross movement, the Curaçao branch is calling on the community to contribute. Donations will be collected from September 1 through September 15, 2025, via a special disaster relief account at Maduro & Curiel’s Bank (MCB) number 2004. The account is open to everyone in Curaçao and across the other islands of the former Netherlands Antilles who wish to contribute.

The funds raised will be transferred to the Red Cross Netherlands, which will ensure that the money is used directly to provide humanitarian assistance in Gaza. According to the organization, international partners are closely monitoring the situation, and aid will be delivered as soon as border access allows, ensuring that it reaches those in greatest need.

“With this initiative, Curaçao is also playing its part in helping people in Gaza who are facing dire circumstances,” the organization emphasized.

Donations can be made to MCB account #2004 between September 1 and September 15, 2025.
