Rescue Paws Curaçao Launches Documentary on Stray Dog Crisis

WILLEMSTAD – Local animal rescue organization Rescue Paws Curaçao has announced the release of its new documentary, Abandoned but Not Forgotten, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the journey from rescue to adoption and highlighting the urgent need for long-term solutions—particularly sterilization—to tackle the island’s stray dog overpopulation.

According to Rescue Paws, thousands of stray dogs roam Curaçao without homes, many of them sick, malnourished, or victims of abuse. The organization has been active for a decade, rescuing, caring for, and sterilizing these animals in an effort to improve their welfare and reduce their numbers.

The premiere of Abandoned but Not Forgotten will take place on August 17 via YouTube. Later this year, the documentary will also be shown on Corendon flights.

“This film aims to raise awareness and inspire more people to get involved—as volunteers, adopters, or donors,” Rescue Paws stated in its press release.
