WILLEMSTAD - Schotte is definitively not a Member of Parliament anymore. The appeal that Schotte filed against the decision of the President of Parliament was declared unfounded.

According to the judge, the underlying rules about expired membership of parliament became law on 10-10-'10. That is in fact regulated in the Statute.

Schotte must therefore just serve his sentence and cannot remain an MP and work from prison. This means that Juniel Carolina is next in line to become an MP for the opposition party MFK.
