Still no management agreement between government and FKP

WILLEMSTAD - Almost three months after the deadline set by the Committee for Financial Supervision (Cft) to the Curaçao government for a solution of social housing, there is still no solution.

Some 9000 home seekers are on the waiting list of social housing foundation Fundashon Kas Popular (FKP). But without a management agreement with the government, FKP can no longer offers houses for rent.

That agreement should have been there almost 3 months ago according to the Cft. Moreover, it was one of the conditions to prevent a measure from the Kingdom Council of Ministers. Nevertheless, Undersecretary Raymond Knops of Kingdom Relations believes that the conclusion is that the Curaçao government is not keeping up with the agreements due to the lack of the management agreement.

According to Knops, the results are not as expected, or hoped for, but the delay in achieving the results does not have to lead to an instruction.
