Successful Launch of ‘MEO den bo Bario’ in Sta. Maria

WILLEMSTAD - The first edition of “MEO den bo Bario”, organized by the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), took place last night at the Sentro di Bario Sta. Maria and was met with great success.

The event provided residents, entrepreneurs, and other community members with the opportunity to receive direct information and guidance from various MEO departments and partner organizations. Representatives from MEO, the Prekario Team of ROP, SBAB, Mi Negoshi Shared & Support Services, and the Fundashon pa Konsumidó were present to inform visitors about topics such as business licensing, tax obligations, entrepreneurship, and consumer protection.

Speakers from each organization gave practical explanations about how to obtain economic permits, fulfill tax responsibilities, and turn business ideas into reality.

The session was well attended, with participants showing strong interest in the presentations and actively seeking personal advice about their businesses or plans to start new ventures.

Minister of Economic Development Roderick Middelhof highlighted the importance of the initiative:

“It is essential that our people are well informed. Only by sharing knowledge and staying close to the community can we build a strong and resilient economy together.”

Through “MEO den bo Bario”, the ministry aims to bring its services closer to local communities and actively support citizens in their economic growth and empowerment.

MEO expressed satisfaction with the successful launch of the program and announced plans to host additional editions in other neighborhoods across Curaçao in 2026. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to making information accessible and to continuously supporting residents and entrepreneurs with their questions and initiatives.

Slogan: “Ban kumpli ku lei, pa bo por sigui drei!” (Comply with the law so your business can keep moving forward!)
