Based on internal investigation results

WILLEMSTAD - On January 24, the Supervisory Board of the Refineria di Kòrsou NV (RdK), the Curaçao Refinery, proposed to the General Meeting of Shareholders of RdK to dismiss the statutory director Mr. Roderick van Kwartel. The internal investigation instituted by the Supervisory Board has shown that there are concrete indications that irregularities have occurred in the tendering process for operating the refinery in relation to a bidder.

In addition to the route set out by RdK to come to a strategic partner, Mr. van Kwartel and the two other employees initiated a parallel process. Based on the results of the investigation, the Supervisory Board is of the opinion that it can no longer have confidence in Mr. Van Kwartel as director of RdK.

At the same time as this proposal, the RdK Board of Directors announced that the two other employees who were involved in these irregularities would also be dismissed immediately.

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) has requested the contents of the investigation report. It is expected that they will receive this investigation report within two weeks.

The process of signing a MoU with the preferred bidder continues in the meantime with the aim of reaching an agreement as soon as possible.
