WILLEMSTAD – The government has basically done nothing concerning the Tauber building in downtown Punda where the Ministry of Social Development, Labor and Welfare is housed. The employees accuse Minister Hensley Koeiman of not being interested in their health.
The union representing the civil servants also accuse the Minister of not following the recommendations made by the several government entities on how to make the building fitting for people to work in. There is an awful stench which is making the employees sick. The building is not being aired enough.
The personnel indicated that they cannot be exposed to this and that they will not return to the building until these problems have been solved. The minister promised to the judge on December 28 that he will follow the recommendations of the Department of Public Health, but this has not happened yet.
