WILLEMSTAD, THE HAGUE – Two employees at the Cabinet of the Minister Plenipotentiary of Curaçao in the Netherlands have been suspended, the civil servants’ union ABVO confirmed today through its chairman, Kenneth Bremer.
Bremer declined to reveal the identities of the employees or the reasons behind the measure but described the situation as “unpleasant and tense.” He said the union is in contact with the acting director of the Cabinet regarding the matter.
Curaçao’s Minister Plenipotentiary in the Netherlands, Carlson Manuel, emphasized that the decision is a “temporary order measure, not a disciplinary punishment.” He confirmed that an investigation has been launched into the employees’ conduct.
“No further statements will be made at this stage,” Manuel noted. “Once the investigation is completed, more information will be provided.”
