WILLEMSTAD - Police have arrested two minors after a firearm was discovered in a school restroom on Friday. The name of the school has not been released, but authorities confirmed that the incident occurred at an institution located “pariba di brùg” (north of the bridge).

The weapon was found after school staff alerted the police upon discovering it in a bathroom.

Student Hid the Weapon

An initial investigation revealed that a student from the school had hidden the firearm in the restroom. Police seized the weapon and detained two students, aged 15 and 16, both born in Curaçao.

Transferred to Juvenile Detention

The two suspects were brought before an assistant public prosecutor for questioning. Following their interrogation, they were transferred to a juvenile detention facility pending further investigation.

Police continue to investigate how the firearm entered the school and whether others may have been involved.
