Unstable Weather Continues Around ABC Islands After Weekend Rain

WILLEMSTAD - Following the heavy rainfall over the weekend, weather conditions around the ABC islands remain unstable, with the likelihood of strong rain and thunderstorms persisting in the coming days.

According to the Meteorological Department of Curaçao (Meteo), such conditions are typical for this time of year, as October is historically the month with the highest frequency of lightning and thunder across the region.

Meteo also warned that waterspouts — tornado-like formations that can occur under storm clouds — are still possible during the second half of the month.

The department will continue to closely monitor the weather in the coming weeks and remains on alert for potential extreme weather eventsadvising residents to stay informed and exercise caution during heavy storms.
