WILLEMSTAD - The ABC islands are within the reach of Russian-made Venezuelan anti-aircraft systems. This is stated in the annual report of the Military Intelligence and Security Service MIVD.

The service adds that the Venezuelan armed forces have no offensive intentions, but there is reason to "closely monitor the situation in the neighboring country.

A special Caribbean Team is constantly gathering information about the Caribbean and South America in support of the Kingdom's foreign and defense policy.
