WILLEMSTAD — The Curaçao Investment & Export Promotion Agency (CINEX) has officially entered into a collaboration agreement with Mr. John Broek, owner of two prime development areas: Port San Nicolas and Groot Santa Martha. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development of these unique locations through a sustainable and inclusive approach, while strategically connecting the right investors with the opportunities offered.
To support the investment promotion efforts, Mr. Broek is represented by Ray Seijs of Curacao Sotheby’s International Realty (SIR). With decades of experience in luxury real estate and investor relations in the Dutch Caribbean, Seijs and his team will collaborate closely with CINEX to promote the development potential of these areas to an international network of qualified investors and developers.
Together, CINEX, Mr. Broek and Curacao SIR will work to position Port San Nicolas - located along Curaçao’s southwestern coastline and officially approved and designated for tourist and permanent residential development - as a major international tourist destination. Groot Santa Martha, classified as open development land, offers additional potential for integrated or standalone eco-tourism and residential projects.
The joint objective is to launch a targeted investment campaign to generate serious interest and dialogue with strategic partners. Promotional activities will include investor outreach through the global channels of CINEX and Curacao Sotheby’s International Realty, dedicated investments events, and direct matchmaking with investors aligned with the long-term vision for the area.
“Port San Nicolas and Groot Santa Martha represent a rare opportunity for sustainable, large-scale development in Curaçao,” Miles Mercera, CEO of CINEX, explains. “Our role is to bridge vision with capital by matching this opportunity with the right investors who understand the value of creating impact-driven growth.”
With over 600 hectares (1,500 acres) of combined property - including designated zones permitted for tourism and residential development - these lands benefit from strong natural features such as coral and sand beaches, a natural marina, and proximity to Curaçao International Airport. Development concepts include hotel zones, residential communities, and nature-based resorts.
With a combined valuation of €75 million, this initiative seeks not only to stimulate economic activity, but to do so with a long-term, responsible and sustainable approach.
