WILLEMSTAD - According to figures released today by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), the price level in June 2025 increased by 0.5 percent compared to May 2025. The inflation rate for June 2025 rose to 2.3 percent.
Monthly Price Changes – June 2025 Compared to May 2025
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Curaçao increased by 0.5 percent in June 2025 compared to May 2025. The index rose to 105.1 in June, up from 104.6 in May.
During June 2025, the prices of goods and services increased in eight spending categories. The most notable price increases were recorded in the following areas:
Healthcare: +1.4%
Transport and Communication: +1.3%
Clothing and Footwear: +1.0%
Food: +0.8%
Miscellaneous: +0.4%
Home Furnishings and Household Goods: +0.3%
Alcohol and Tobacco: +0.3%
Housing: +0.1%
In contrast, there was a slight price decrease in the Recreation and Leisure category: -0.1%.

Inflation reflects the loss of money’s purchasing power as the prices of goods and services rise over time (typically 12 months). The inflation rate is an important indicator of the average increase in the cost of living and is often used as a basis for adjusting wages, pensions, social benefits, minimum wage, and other income sources.
Inflation for a given month is calculated by comparing the 12-month average CPI of that month with the 12-month average CPI of the same month in the previous year.
Measured over the twelve-month period ending in June 2025, compared to the same period a year earlier, consumer prices rose on average by 2.3 percent. The 12-month average CPI increased from 101.5 in June 2024 to 103.8 in June 2025.
