WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) has officially extended its partnership with the National Port Authority of the Dominican Republic (APORDOM) in a strategic move to strengthen cooperation in port development, cargo, and cruise operations. The agreement seeks to promote increased vessel traffic between the two countries.
The signing took place during the Seatrade Cruise Global Conference in Miami and was formalized by Mr. Humberto de Castro, CEO of CPA, and Mr. Jean Luís Rodriguez, Executive Director of APORDOM. The ceremony was attended by Curaçao’s Minister of Economic Development, Mr. Charles Cooper, along with Mr. Raul Manotas, Chief Commercial Officer of CPA, and Mr. Muryad de Bruin, CEO of the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB).
The renewed collaboration will focus on exchanging vital information related to port infrastructure, cargo logistics, and cruise industry development, aiming to position both the Port of Willemstad and Dominican ports as regional hubs.
“This partnership reflects CPA’s ongoing commitment to building strong relationships with ports that are strategically aligned with the growth and connectivity of the Port of Willemstad,” the authority stated.
The agreement is expected to open new opportunities for economic development and maritime cooperation between Curaçao and the Dominican Republic.
