El Tributo Officially Opens New Crematorium on Jan Noorduynweg

WILLEMSTAD – Funeral services company El Tributo has officially inaugurated its new crematorium on Jan Noorduynweg, marking what Director Haidel Haile describes as a “historic moment” for Curaçao. Although the crematorium has been operational since early this year, the official opening took place yesterday during a special tour for local media.

Until now, families in Curaçao seeking cremation services could only turn to Crefona crematorium in Brievengat. El Tributo had long sought to open its own facility, with the first application for the project dating back to before 2010.

“This facility is not just a new building,” said Haile, “but a reflection of our commitment to offering innovative, transparent, and fully integrated services to families.”

Integrated Services from Start to Finish

The crematorium is located in the renovated former UTS building on Jan Noorduynweg, situated between Botika Piscadera and the University of Curaçao. The facility now serves as both the main office of El Tributo and the new cremation center.

Families choosing El Tributo will now benefit from end-to-end service, including cremation within the company’s own facility. “From the first call, through the organization of the farewell, to the sacred moment of cremation, families can count on our professional and dedicated team,” Haile stated.

Open to All Families

El Tributo emphasizes that the crematorium is open to all families, regardless of race, culture, religion, or beliefs. The company operates under the motto: “A tribute to life, your way.”

With this new facility, El Tributo aims to broaden access to dignified, modern funeral services for the community of Curaçao.
