Oranje Fonds Honors Organization for Its Role as an Indispensable Link
THE HAGUE - Fundashon Pro Bista Kòrsou has won an Appeltje van Oranje 2025. Queen Máxima presented the prestigious award this afternoon at Noordeinde Palace, in the presence of King Willem-Alexander and Princess Beatrix. The recognition, granted by the Oranje Fonds, honors organizations that are indispensable within their communities. The other winners this year are Stichting Straat Consulaat from The Hague and Takecarebnb from Amsterdam.
Indispensable Links
The theme of this year’s Appeltjes van Oranje is “Indispensable Links.” The honored organizations are those that truly see what is happening in society, listen closely to the people they serve, and step in wherever needed. They build bridges, foster connection, and collaborate actively within their communities and with relevant institutions and governments. Through this work, they contribute to a more inclusive society where everyone can participate and no one is left behind.
Fundashon Pro Bista Kòrsou
For more than 25 years, Fundashon Pro Bista Kòrsou has been dedicated to supporting people with visual impairments in Curaçao. Through a powerful combination of rehabilitation, practical training, psychosocial support, and empowerment, the foundation has helped hundreds of people regain their independence and confidence. Their approach also strengthens families and the wider community, creating a double impact—both on individual lives and on society as a whole.
The Appeltjes van Oranje are the annual recognition awards of the Oranje Fonds, presented to three social organizations that work toward a more connected society. The Queen typically presents the awards, and in jubilee years, the King takes on this role. Each winner receives a bronze statuette designed by Princess Beatrix, along with a monetary prize of €25,000. This marks the 23rd edition of the Appeltjes van Oranje.
