Kingdom Ambassador in Caracas Visits Fort Amsterdam

 

WILLEMSTAD - On Monday, October 6, 2025, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas received a courtesy visit from Mrs. Carmen Gonsalves, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands stationed in Caracas.

During the meeting, Ambassador Gonsalves informed the Prime Minister about the latest developments in Venezuela, addressing several current issues, including the fragile situation in the neighboring country, the operation of OFAC licenses, and recent actions by the United States in the Caribbean region.

Ambassador Gonsalves is currently in Curaçao to attend the annual conference of the Kingdom’s ambassadors in the Western Hemisphere, which is being held on the island this week. A total of 33 Dutch Kingdom ambassadors are participating in the conference.

The meeting took place in a constructive and open atmosphere, emphasizing mutual cooperation and the importance of maintaining continuous dialogue in the interest of Curaçao.
